Don't Carry It

Some things are hard to let go of. Regret over something we wish we had done differently. Bitterness over something someone did to us. Discouragement from a season that hasn’t turned out the way we hoped.

But we were never meant to carry those things forever.

Yesterday Doesn’t Have to Follow You

It’s easy to let yesterday become part of how we see today. We replay conversations, hold onto disappointments, and carry the weight of things we can’t change. Sometimes we even allow past failures to convince us that our best days are behind us.

But God doesn’t ask us to live under the weight of yesterday.

Lamentations 3 reminds us that God’s mercies are new every morning. That means today isn’t simply another chance to relive what happened before. It’s a new day with new mercy from God.

His Mercy Is Still There

There may be things you wish you could go back and change. There may be hurt that hasn’t completely gone away. There may be circumstances that have left you discouraged.

But none of those things are bigger than God’s faithfulness.

The same passage that acknowledges suffering also declares that God’s compassion never fails. His mercy hasn’t run out. His faithfulness hasn’t changed. And when we wake up to a new day, we wake up to a God who is still there.

You don’t have to carry yesterday into today as though nothing can change.

There Is Hope for Today

Sometimes moving forward doesn’t mean everything has been fixed. It simply means we stop carrying what God is inviting us to release.

Regret doesn’t have to define you. Bitterness doesn’t have to stay with you. Discouragement doesn’t have to determine what you believe about tomorrow.

God’s mercy is new today.

Whatever yesterday held, you can meet today with fresh hope because God’s faithfulness is still greater than whatever you’re carrying.
