Brae Your Thinking

Break Your Thinking

We all carry thoughts and patterns of thinking that can shape the way we see ourselves, our circumstances, and even what we believe God can do in our lives. In this continuation of What’s Your Source?, we look again at Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 10:4–5: “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God.” The battle is not always against something outside of us. Sometimes the strongholds God wants to tear down are the thoughts we have allowed to take root within us.

Carnality is more than simply sinful behavior. It can be thinking that is limited to human reasoning rather than shaped by the heart and Word of God. Thoughts like “I’ll never be free,” “I’ll never change,” “I’ve missed my opportunity,” or “I’ll never become who God created me to be” can quietly become part of our identity. But those thoughts do not have to determine our future.

God has given us spiritual weapons—His Word, the name of Jesus, the blood of the Lamb, the Holy Spirit, praise, the power of agreement, and the authority and faith we have as believers. These weapons are not meant to sit unused. They are given to us so that we can confront the lies, tear down strongholds, and bring our thoughts into obedience to Christ.

Breaking wrong thinking begins with honesty before God. It requires us to recognize the places where we have settled for carnality, repent, and allow God to cleanse our hearts and minds. But it also calls us to radical obedience—to believe what God says even when our feelings tell us otherwise.

You are not defined by the lies you have believed. You are not too far gone, and it is not too late for God to redeem, restore, and transform your life. The invitation is to stop agreeing with what God never said and begin believing what He has spoken over you.
