There is something powerful about hearing a word from God. It can give us direction when we don't know what to do, strength when we're discouraged, and faith to move forward. But God has already given us His Word, and we can't afford to neglect it. Scripture is living and powerful, speaking into our hearts and revealing what is true even when everything around us is changing.
Our relationship with God's Word can't be limited to what we hear on Sunday. Just as our bodies need food, our souls need to be fed. The Word corrects us, teaches us, strengthens us, and helps us recognize what is happening within our hearts. As we consistently give ourselves to Scripture, it becomes more than something we read—it becomes something that shapes the way we think and live.
Yet the purpose of the Word is not simply to give us more knowledge. The written Word points us to the living Word, Jesus. God desires for us to know Him, hear His voice, and build our lives upon what He has spoken. The Word of God will sustain us, but we have to choose to return to it, listen to it, and allow it to take its rightful place in our lives.
Don't neglect the Word. Feed your soul. Lean your ear toward what God is saying. Build your life on His eternal Word, because while everything around us may change, His Word will never change.
